Pakistan have always been synonymous with surprise packages and Aamer Yamin is no different. Born in Multan, Yamin grew up in the time of isolation of international cricket in the country and then made his way through a junior level circuit of Under-19 inter-regional tournament in 2008.He shot to recognition when he scored 700 runs at 58.33 and took 32 wickets at 24.18 in the 2013-14 season.

Yamin then impressed in the national T20 tournament when he struck 45 off 20 balls for Multan Region against Karachi Blues in the semi-final in 2015. The performance caught the eye of the selectors and Yamin was subsequently drafted into the Pakistan ODI team for the Zimbabwe tour.

Overall, Yamin has played 25 first-class matches since his debut in 2009, scoring 1058 runs, including three centuries, to add to 58 wickets at 28.34. His career only floated around until the strong performance against Karachi Blues. He joined Peshawar Zalmi ahead of Feb 2016 season of Pakistan Super League.
