West Indies Captain & Quetta Gladiator Player Jason Holder has been named as Sports Person of the Year in Barbados at annual awards ceremony. Holder was announced as the winner of the top award during the NSC’s 33rd annual national sports awards ceremony at the Frank Collymore Hall on Saturday night. He was also named senior outstanding sportsperson (male). The other nominees in the category were multi-eventer Akela Jones, hurdler Rivaldo Leacock and quarter-miler Sada Williams.
Jason Holder is currently in Trinidad and Tobago representing Barbados in the NAGICO Super50 Cricket Competition and his mother Denise accepted on his behalf. He will not be joining Quetta Gladiator Squad for PSL Meet Feb 2016 as he could not get NOC from West Indies Cricket Board. Quetta Gladiator posted the congratulatory remark on twitter saying:
“He is not with us in PSL but Jason Holder will remain part of Quetta Gladiators family.”
